Indonesian fashion designer Ansy Savitri is known for translating her personal experiences into fashion design. This series of fashion catalogue and social media promotional materials aim to create a design that sits in harmony with the themes of her work and highlight it.

The story

when personal experience translated into fashion
Fashion designer Ansy Savitri translates personal experiences into her unique fashion design. When I first stepped into her work studio, I noticed how cosy and personal her workspace was. Favourite quotes, magazine clips and photos covered almost every inch of her walls. Before even receiving the brief, I knew that this personal touch is what makes her work unique and needs to be respected and that I am not here to reinvent the wheel.

Just as there is a time to break creative boundaries and reinvent the wheel, there is also a time to respect an existing brand and use existing potential. Seeing the unique use of pattern and colour palette of Ansy Savitri brand, in this project, I utilise pattern and colours from its existing fashion collection to create catalogue layout that represents the characteristics of each collection accurately.

SHIRIN
The collection Shirin by Ansy Savitri is inspired by a trip to Iran back in 2017 and a content month of heartwarming concerts and great movies.

A collaboration between Fika (Textile Designer) and Ansy Savitri (Fashion designer) in making a resort wear collection full of fascinating prints. The prints are telling the story of their trip during the Australia Awards Short Course.
